ABHIMANYU’S POV
Shivnya burst into laughter. Why the hell is everyone teasing me today?! And why out of all people does my wife enjoy it the most?!
I groaned. "Shivu, you’re not going." This time, my voice came out softer—almost pleading.
She cupped my face, standing on her tiptoes. But before she could reach, I lifted her effortlessly into the air.
"Abhi, it’s just a week. I’ll be back soon. We can call, text, video chat—heck, you can even write me love letters if you miss me that much."
Love letters? I didn’t need letters—I needed her. Her touch was an addiction, a drug I couldn’t live without.
I opened my mouth to protest, but she silenced me with a soft peck on my lips.
"See? Our marriage happened so fast that we never even experienced that whole ‘long-distance’ phase most couples do. Think of this as our chance to test it out. Besides, I need to pack."
She slipped out of my hold before I could argue further, leaving me standing there, utterly defeated.
But that didn’t stop me from clinging to her.
While she packed, I wrapped my arms around her from behind, my lips tracing along her neck, savoring every second before she left. A whole week without touching her? Without holding her? How was I supposed to survive this?
Later, we descended the stairs together.
The moment we stepped into the hall, everyone smirked at me. Like they’d already won this stupid game.
Shivnya started greeting the elders, and I tried to steal one last hug—a proper one—but before I could even tighten my grip, her cousins dragged her away.
I swear, I wanted to kill those idiots.
Shivnya turned to me with a soft smile. "Abhi, I have to leave. Bye-bye, baby. I’ll miss you. And… I love you a lot."
I barely had time to respond before she waved, got into the car, and… left.
And there I stood. Like a complete idiot.
The rest of the day was torture.
I tried to distract myself with work. I tried to keep busy. But every hour, I found myself calling her.
She answered the first few times, her voice soothing me as she laughed at my clinginess. But then—on the fourth call—
Aarav picked up.
"Tu meri behen ko mere saath time spend karne dega ya nahi?"
( would you let me spend some time with my sister or not )
My blood boiled.
"You have my sister. Spend time with her. Not my wife."
Before I could continue, I heard Shivnya’s voice in the background.
"Give me my phone! He must need something!"
But before she could take it, the call ended.
Oh, they’re really testing me.
Now? Now, I’m pissed.
The night was unbearable.
I couldn't stand being away from her—not even for a few hours. Her cousins had taken her phone and even switched it off. I was losing my mind, pacing around the room like a caged animal.
I need to see her.
I need to hear her.
I needed her in my arms.
Frustrated, I grabbed my phone and texted Daksh.
Me: Daksh, what’s everyone doing? 🧐
Daksh: Nothing. Everyone was tired after the day, so they went to their rooms. Probably sleeping. Why? What happened?
Me: Nothing… just asking. What about the girls? What are they doing?
Daksh: Speak up, man. You wanna know about your wife, don’t you? 👀😁
Me: Yes. Tell me what she’s doing 🧐🧐
Daksh: She’s with Sanj in her room. That’s all I know.
That was enough information.
I couldn’t sit still anymore.
Grabbing my car keys, I rushed to the parking lot and sped off. The roads blurred as I drove, my only thought being her.
Within no time, I reached her mansion.
The guards didn’t even stop me—of course they didn’t. Their boss is my wife, and that meant I could come and go whenever I pleased.
As I walked toward the house, I remembered Shivnya’s room was on the ground floor but still elevated. I needed a ladder.
I asked one of the guards. The way they stared at me, you’d think I’d asked for a gun.
After five whole minutes, they finally handed it over.
I made my way to her window. It was closed. Curtains drawn. Her phone? Still switched off.
I had no choice.
I called Sanj.
She picked up after just a couple of rings. "Hiii, Jiju!"
"Hey, Sanj... Where’s your di? And why isn’t she answering my calls?"
"Because her phone has been confiscated by Aarav bhai," she said, laughing.
(I swear, I’m going to kill that man. He’s enjoying with my sister and in the meantime, taking away my wife’s phone? The audacity.)
"Uh-huh. Okay. Where exactly is your di?"
"Right in front of me, staring at me with her big, round eyes."
Sanj burst into laughter, and in the background, I heard the voice that made my heart race. My Shivnya.
"Ohh."
"What 'ohh', Mr. Rathore?" came her sarcastic voice.
"Biwi, I missed you so much."
She sighed. "Abhi, it hasn’t even been twelve hours since I left the house."
"Yeah, it hasn’t. But it’s been eight hours, forty-five minutes, and twenty-five seconds…"
"Abhi, stop it! You’re making me blush," she scolded, but I could hear the smile in her voice.
In the background, Sanj chuckled. "I’m leaving the room. You guys need some privacy."
I smirked. Good girl.
"Did she leave?" I asked.
"Yes. Why?"
"Open your window. I’m right outside."
A long pause. Then—
"What the hell, Mr. Rathore?!"
"Shivnya. Open. The. Window."
Seconds later, she pulled it open.
And for a moment, my breath caught.
She stood there, bathed in silver moonlight, her face glowing, her hair cascading over her shoulders.
Before I could say a word, she smacked my head.
"What the hell are you doing here?! Someone might see us!"
I grinned and climbed in through the window, landing smoothly inside her room.
"So what? I’m your husband. Let them see."
She huffed, folding her arms. "Abhi, you are insane."
I laughed, pulling her into my arms. "And you love it."
I quickly shut the door behind me, locking it from inside, and without a second thought, I wrapped my arms around my jaan.
God, I missed her so damn much.
She hugged me back with equal intensity, her warmth seeping into me, calming my restless heart. But just as I was about to lose myself in her, she pulled back, her voice laced with concern and a hint of scolding.
"Abhi, you should leave before someone sees you."
I scoffed, tightening my hold around her waist. "Not a chance, jaan."
I pulled her toward the bed, sat down, and yanked her onto my lap. My face immediately found her neck, and I began nuzzling into her soft skin.
"Please let me stay with you tonight," I murmured against her neck, placing soft, open-mouthed kisses.
She let out a shaky breath, her voice stammering. "Abhi… Sanj is also here… she’s sharing my room…"
I chuckled darkly, my hands already sliding under her t-shirt, craving the feel of her warm skin. "So what? Give her some other room. She can sleep with Ira. Why does she have to stay with you?"
"Abhi!" She gasped, slapping my wandering hand away, but her cheeks flushed deep red.
"What?" I mumbled innocently, my lips still teasing her neck.
But her words suddenly sobered me up.
"You know… ever since Daksh and Reyansh entered the haveli, Sanj has been acting really weird."
I stopped, my brows furrowing. "Weird? How?"
"Like… distant. She doesn’t talk much around them, especially Reyansh. It’s like she’s trying to avoid him."
A strange unease settled in me. I had noticed it too but brushed it off. Now that she mentioned it, it did seem suspicious.
"Has she ever met them before?" I asked, brushing her hair behind her ear.
"No… never." She seemed deep in thought. "But—"
Before she could complete her sentence, a loud commotion erupted outside.
We both froze. It was Daksh and Sanj. Their voices sharp, almost like they were fighting.
"What the hell is happening?" I asked, my protective instincts kicking in.
She looked at me, equally clueless. "I don't know… but I need to check."
I caught her wrist. "I’m coming with you."
"No! Please, Abhi. If they see you here, they'll tease me the entire vacation." She whined adorably.
I let out a chuckle, releasing her hand. "Fine. But be careful, okay? And come back to me soon."
She smiled, placed a quick peck on my lips, and rushed out of the room.
I sat there, my mind spinning. Something was definitely off. And I was going to find out what.
AUTHOR’S POV
Sanj stepped out of the room, not wanting to be a kabab mein haddi between her dii and jiju. She walked to the living room and plopped down on the couch, scrolling through her Instagram feed. Being socially hyperactive, she couldn't resist posting every little thing, something Shivnya always scolded her about. "Stop oversharing, Sanj!" — Shivnya’s constant dialogue. But Sanj? She was a rebellious kid who did exactly the opposite.
A few minutes in, a sudden craving hit her — something sweet. Without wasting a second, she made her way to the kitchen to grab her dark chocolate fudge brownie. But as soon as she entered, her eyes fell on Daksh, standing with his back to her, munching on something.
"Hi, Daksh!" she greeted casually, her mind already on her brownie. She started checking the fridge and shelves, hoping to find it.
"Hey, Sanj!" Daksh turned around, his mouth stuffed — with her brownie!
Sanj froze. Her eyes darkened in disbelief as she stared at him. "How dare you eat my brownie?!" she burst out, marching toward him.
Daksh blinked, unfazed. "Umm... there was no name on it, so I thought it was a free game," he shrugged, taking another bite.
Her jaw dropped. "Excuse me?!" Without thinking twice, she lunged forward and snatched the box from his hand. "This is mine! Go and buy yourself one," she huffed, holding the box to her chest like it was a precious jewel.
"Did you even buy it?" Daksh raised a challenging brow, smirking slightly.
"No! My dii bought it for me," she snapped, her glare intensifying. Sanj had a sacred bond with cakes, sweets, and especially brownies — they were like her best friends. And if someone dared to take them from her, she wouldn't hesitate to dig their grave herself.
"Well, she’s my best friend too," Daksh retorted smugly, reaching for another piece.
Sanj’s temper flared. "TOUCH IT AGAIN, AND I SWEAR, DAKSH..." she seethed, pulling the box away like her life depended on it.
The loud commotion immediately caught everyone's attention. Reyansh, who had been in his room, came rushing into the kitchen. "What’s happening here?"
Daksh casually began narrating the situation, while Sanj stood there, burning with rage, refusing to say a word. Within minutes, the entire family gathered, including Shivnya and Avni — who was eight months pregnant and now curiously eyeing the brownie.
"What happened, Sanj?" Shivnya asked, stepping forward.
Before Sanj could respond, Avni licked her lips, her pregnancy cravings hitting hard. "Aarav, I'm really craving that fudge brownie now. Can you get me some?" she asked sweetly, her hand resting on her baby bump.
Aarav, trying to avoid any unnecessary drama, offered a cautious smile. "I'll get it in the morning or after this... storm calms down," he muttered.
Reyansh, sensing the tension, turned to Daksh. "Daksh, just let her have it. She’s a kid. At least you behave maturely," he said gently.
And that did it.
Sanj’s head snapped toward Reyansh, her blood boiling. " EXCUSE ME, MR. REYANSH SURYAWANSHI?! Nobody asked for your unwanted advice, so why don’t you just tuck it in your pocket and walk around like a freaking idiot?!" she blazed, her tone sharp. Then, turning toward Daksh, she practically shoved the box into his hand. "And you know what? Here! Have the damn brownie. Choke on it if you want!"
Everyone froze. Pin-drop silence. Sanj’s heavy breaths echoed in the room.
" And sorry for disturbing your sleep—" she began sarcastically when —
CRASH!
A loud vase-shattering noise came from Shivnya’s room. Everyone’s head snapped toward the sound. Aarav’s face darkened. "Who’s in your room, Shivnya?" he asked sternly.
Panic flickered in Shivnya’s eyes. "Uh... maybe the wind?" she stammered, clearly failing to sound convincing.
Her cousins and devars gave her a narrow-eyed look. Shivnya swallowed hard, knowing she was cornered. "Okay, okay! You can come out now. Everyone knows," she finally gave in, forcing a nervous laugh.
And from the room, Abhimanyu walked out confidently, flashing a sheepish smile. "Hi, everyone," he greeted casually.
Ye toh hona hi tha
As everyone saw him, Avni laughed at her brother’s whipped state for his wife. Aarav huffed and teased, “ This man can’t stay away from my sister even for a moment.”
Abhimanyu gave him a cheeky smile, making everyone sigh in amusement. Before anything else could happen, Sanj quietly went into Ira’s room to stay with her. Shivnya looked at Daksh and Reyansh with an apologetic smile and said,“ Sorry to both of you.”
They nodded in response, brushing it off. Meanwhile, Avni went to Daksh and said with a playful pout, “ You know I’m pregnant, right? And my baby wants it… so give me some.”
Daksh chuckled while Aarav smirked at his wife’s antics. Avni innocently took some and walked back into the room, Aarav following close behind. Slowly, everyone dispersed to their rooms.
When Abhimanyu and Shivnya entered their room, he sighed in relief. “ Thank God, now everyone knows I’m here. I don’t have to hide anymore—I can finally live with my wife in peace.”
But Shivnya was lost in thought. Abhimanyu noticed and asked softly, “ What happened, Shivuu?”
She looked at him with a frown. “ You know, I never saw Sanj so angry… so fierce. I’ve personally trained her in every self-defense technique and tried to make her strong, but she always behaved like a baby in front of me. She is my baby. But seeing her like this… I felt she isn’t the kid she shows me. She’s… she’s grown up. Everything she did out there—she learned it from me.”
Abhimanyu gently made her sit beside him and said, “ And isn’t that a good thing? Your little baby sister is a fighter now. Maybe she always acted like a baby around you because she knew she didn’t have to take any stress when you were there. She could be carefree with you.”
Shivnya slowly nodded. “ Yeah, that’s possible… but did you notice? There was tension between Sanj and Reyansh. I should do something.”
Abhimanyu thought for a moment before replying, “ Shivuu, I think you should give Sanj some space. She’s not a kid anymore—she’s almost 23. She knows what’s right and wrong for her. And if it’s related to Reyansh, I can assure you—he’s a good man. He won’t hurt our Sanj at any cost.”
Shivnya let out a breath and agreed. Abhimanyu smiled and whispered, “ Now, let’s sleep. We’re on vacation—we should enjoy it too.”
With that, they lay down, and Shivnya slowly convinced herself not to interfere too much in her sister’s life. She knew Sanj would come to her if anything truly bothered her, and she never wanted to force her into confessions. Deep down, Shivnya also knew that if she ever asked Abhimanyu to dig into the matter, he would instantly find out everything for her—but she didn’t want to use that power. Still, a small part of her felt comforted knowing that if things ever went wrong, she could control the situation.
The Next Morning
Slowly, one by one, everyone came out of their rooms, still yawning and half-asleep. Shivnya, barely able to keep her eyes open, went to sit between Abhimanyu’s legs, leaning her back lazily against his chest. Radha and Avni snuggled near their husbands, still in sleepy daze, while Sanj quietly went to sit near Yuvraj—avoiding any unnecessary chaos with Reyansh. Ira settled beside her brother, while Aarav sat next to her .
Shivnya was still drowsy, her head lolling back against Abhimanyu’s shoulder when the most energetic person in the room made his entrance—Anirudh. He came running around the circle, laughter echoing, before jumping into Shivnya’s lap. “Badi maa, let’s play something!” he said cheerfully.
Shivnya, still half-asleep, just hugged him loosely, while a maid brought in a tray full of steaming black coffee. Cups were passed around, and slowly, everyone began to wake up.
Divit stretched and asked, “So guys, what’s the plan for today?”
Different suggestions filled the air, but finally, they agreed on a picnic in the backyard. The mansion’s backyard was massive—perfect for games, food, and laughter.
Everyone went to freshen up. Soon, the men gathered outside with a cricket bat, their shouts and teasing echoing through the lawn, while the women stayed back in the kitchen, preparing food and chatting, enjoying each other’s company.
Later, the ladies too joined in the backyard, sitting comfortably with baskets of food. Between laughter and conversations, they learned more about Ira—that she had just finished school and dreamed of becoming a doctor.
Amid the chatter, Shivnya suddenly called out, “Abhi! Come here, you must be hungry. Eat something.”
Abhimanyu was about to walk towards her when suddenly raindrops began to fall. Within moments, the drizzle turned into a downpour. Everyone shrieked and ran back towards the veranda, except Abhimanyu, who stopped midway and smirked at his wife.
“Shivuuu, come! Let’s enjoy the rain!” he called.
Shivnya shook her head furiously.
“No way!”
But before she could protest further, Abhimanyu scooped her effortlessly into his arms and ran into the rain. Shivnya squealed, throwing her hands and legs in protest, but he only laughed, swinging her in circles as the rain poured down.
Slowly, the others joined too—except Avni and Aarav, who stayed back because of her pregnancy. Laughter filled the air. Divit even dragged out a water pipe, playfully spraying more water over everyone.
Meanwhile, Sanj was hiding playfully behind Yuvraj, running from the water, when she suddenly collided straight into Reyansh. He immediately grabbed her arms, leaning close, his voice low and possessive,“Don’t forget, you’re mine. You belong to me.”
Sanj’s eyes blazed. She stomped on his foot, trying to hurt him—but his face didn’t flinch, his expression cold and unreadable. He simply released her and walked back into the mansion.
Anger burning in her chest, Sanj stormed after him. Inside, she pushed him against the wall, her voice sharp and threatening, “I don’t belong to anyone. And definitely not to someone cheap like you. Stay in your limits—or you have no idea what I’m capable of.”
Reyansh’s lips curved into a faint, dangerous smile. “You’ve already done everything to me, Mrs. Suryawanshi. I won’t complain if you do more.”
Sanj growled, fury flashing in her eyes.
“Shut the fuck up, you bloody bastard!” she snapped before storming into her room, slamming the door behind her.
A while later, everyone else returned inside too, dripping wet, laughing, and chattering as they went to their rooms to freshen up and change.
