Ridhimaa and Ranveer gently pushed the door ajar, revealing the tender tableau of Abhimanyu and Shivnya cocooned in peaceful slumber. Exchanging a silent glance, they marveled at the intimate scene, then retreated with quiet reverence, allowing the couple to bask undisturbed in their tranquility.
As Ranveer immersed himself in paperwork, Ridhimaa ventured to the canteen for refreshments. Meanwhile Tanmay, Yuvi, Aarav, aayu and Avni entered the room, their astonishment evident as they beheld the sight before them. Suppressing their giggles, they tiptoed closer to immortalize the moment with a photo, then assembled around the stretcher for a cherished group snapshot.
Their revelry was abruptly interrupted by Abhimanyu's stirring, his steely gaze quelling their mirth. Avni approached with a feigned concern, "Bhai, bhabhi isn't feeling well. Let her rest." Abhimanyu's gaze bore into her, his whisper cutting through the air, "Shhhh... She's sleeping."
As Ridhimaa and Ranveer returned, they found the room unexpectedly crowded. Ridhimaa's voice softened yet carried concern, " Bacho , let them sleep." Avni smirked mischievously, "Maa, bhai is awake." Approaching them, Ridhimaa's tone turned stern, "Why are you sleeping like this? She must be uncomfortable."
Shivnya stirred in sleep as she heard the voice of people around her and adjusted her eyes with the harsh lights of the room , she saw her maa baba and she murmuredย "Maa... Baba," After them she saw the other who were smirking and giggling ,ย she was confused for a sec but then she realizedย abhimanyu was laying behind her she whispered and tried to push him and remove his hand with her left hand but abhimanyu was hold was firm
( Mom.. Dad)
" Hato abhi.... Abhi jaao " He smirked seeing her like that he leaned near her ear and whispered in her ear
( Move aside abhi... Abhi move )
" Kal raat ko toh khud hi bula rhi thi abhi idhr aao idhar aoo or ab khud hi kh rhi ho abhi jao such a hypocrite kitten " He sat up and jumped out of the bed ridhimaa came near her and inquired
( Last night, you were the one calling me over, saying 'come here, come here,' and now you're the one telling me to leave? Such a hypocrite, kitten." )
" Beta ab tabiyat kaisi hai " She caressed her face and head and she replied weakly
( How are you feeling child?? )
" Thik hu m maa "
( I am fine mom )
The nurse came and said " Everyone please go out its patient nursing time " All of themย gone from there except abhimanyu
The doctor came and greeted them but the discomfort between the doctor and abhimanyu was still evident while he checked the vitals and and noted something on his tablet and at the end he asked
" Did you feel some pain last night or you couldn't sleep last night " Shivnya looked at abhimanyu's face and said with a hesitation but yet with a poker face
" No, nothing was like that "
" I expect the truth " The doctor said sternly
She said defeatedly when abhimanyu glared at her " Yeah I couldn't sleep at night I drifted off in the morning and the pain was unbearable "
Doctor note down the thing and informed her the things " Ohkay so maam I am informing you in advance when we operated you and checked your blood to give some specific medicine we found a high dose of drugs which present in sleeping pills and pain killers because of that we are not providing you a higher dose of them we will provide you a very low dose of them so that your wounds would heal easily "
" Nurse do the dressing of the wound " He ordered and left from there with a smile the nurse started drawing the curtain and said
" Sir please learn the procedure of bandages it would be helpful for both of you " As she said shivnya heartbeat started to increase it could easily watched on the monitor abhimanyu saw that and didn't said anything he wants her to share everything when she wanted , but also don't want to see her more hurt by someone
Shivnya said nervously " I have my personal assistant and she would assist me "
" But maam " Nurse tried to oppose but shivnya shouted
" Do your work " Abhimanyu went outside and didn't want to indulge her privacy more
After ten minutes, the nurse stepped outside, signaling Abhimanyu to enter. He walked in, his face stern. "Why didn't you tell me you were in pain and couldn't sleep?" he demanded, his voice laced with concern.
Shivnya ignored his tone, pouting playfully. "Are you telling me what's bothering you? I know something's up, and it involves the doctor," she countered, her eyes narrowing in mock suspicion.
Abhimanyu was taken aback by her childish deflection. "So, you're getting back at me by not telling me about your pain?" he asked, incredulous.
"Yes," she replied with a mischievous grin, her eyes twinkling.
"Shivuu, you're such a baby," Abhimanyu leaned in close, his voice a mix of authority and affection.
She met his gaze with a smirk. "Think whatever you want, Mr. Rathore."
The day passed in a similar manner. Shivnya, restricted to a liquid diet, ate sparingly. When the time came for Ridhimaa and Ranveer to leave, she felt a pang of sadness but masked it well, her smile never faltering.
Later, as they lay in bed, Shivnya nestled comfortably against Abhimanyu, her back pressed against his chest. "Abhi, when are we going home?" she asked softly, her voice tinged with longing.
"Why? Is something wrong?" he inquired, concern evident in his tone.
"I want to be with Maa and Baba . I don't want to stay here," she admitted, her voice small and vulnerable.
Touched by her words and the growing bond she shared with his mother, Abhimanyu smiled and gently stroked her hair. "Okay, jaan. I'll try to arrange for your discharge tomorrow."
After a moment, Shivnya, still restless, asked irritably, "Abhi, what's bothering you?Tell me na "
Abhimanyu sighed, reluctant to burden her. "Shivuu , why do you keep asking?"
She turned to lie on her back, pouting adorably. Abhimanyu, struggling to resist the urge to kiss her, replied, "Because you keep avoiding the question."
He pondered briefly, then said seriously, "Alright, answer my question first. If I'm satisfied with your answer, I'll tell you what's on my mind."
"And if I'm not able to convince you ?" she asked, her tone playful yet challenging.
He smirked, with confidence radiating from him. "Jaan, I know you better than you know yourself. Don't stress over it."
Shivnya sighed, acknowledging his truth. "Okay, ask 'most important' of my husband for which you are making this freaking deal with your innocent wifey ."
Abhimanyu chuckled at her playful exasperation but then grew serious, his eyes locking onto hers. "Promise me you'll tell the whole truth."
"Yes, yes," Shivnya replied, feigning boredom but clearly intrigued by his seriousness. "Now ask baba ."
The words escaped from his mouth, and Shivnya's heart started to race. "Why didn't you let me see the wound?" he asked nervously, her voice trembling as she tried to maintain her composure. She could never lie to her husband, but she had to try.
"Abhi, it isn't needed. Barley is there to do that," she replied, attempting to sound casual, but the anxiety in her tone was unmistakable.
Abhimanyu's eyes bore into hers, filled with a mix of concern and authority. "Jaan, tell me the truth. What's the real reason? You never wear any revealing clothes. Even your wedding lehenga covered your body completely, and all your sarees have high-neck blouses."
Her irritation flared, mixed with a tinge of anger. "What happened suddenly that you want to know that?"
Abhimanyu's voice softened, filled with reassurance. "I will answer all your questions, but first, give me the answer to mine."
She hesitated, her eyes welling up with tears. After a moment, she whispered, "You will leave me after that."
He held her gaze, his heart breaking at her vulnerability. "Baby, why do you think I would leave you? I will never leave you. I love you and can't even imagine my life without you."
She took a deep breath, then ordered in a monotonous tone, "Go and lock the room."
"Huh?" He was taken aback by her sudden command.
"Go," she repeated firmly, leaving no room for argument.
Abhimanyu went to lock the door and drew the curtains. As he approached her, she said in a stern tone, "Open the buttons of my gown."
He felt a pang of guilt, ashamed that his insistence had led to this moment. "Baby, I didn't ask you to do this," he said, his voice heavy with regret.
"But I want to," she insisted, her voice shaking. He began to unbutton the gown, his hands trembling. He couldn't bring himself to look directly at her, so he kept his eyes closed.
"Easy," Shivnya winced as her gown fell away. She said softly, "Open your eyes, abhi "
Reluctantly, he opened his eyes but kept them locked on her face, not daring to look lower. "Look at my body, abhi, " she urged, her voice barely above a whisper.
Slowly, he lowered his gaze. Her body was a canvas of pain, covered in bruises, cuts, and whip marks, some fresh and some old. Her chest, belly, back, and inner thighs bore the cruel evidence of her suffering. The sight made his blood boil with rage and sorrow.
"Baby, who did this to you? Just tell me the name, and I will kill that person," he said, his voice trembling with anger and helplessness.
"You can't kill that person," she replied softly, avoiding his eyes. She knew he might think her crazy or irrational once he learned the truth.
"I can kill anyoneโ" he began, but she interrupted.
"So kill me," she said, her voice breaking as she finally met his gaze.
"What?" He was shocked, unable to comprehend her words.
"I did this," she confessed, a lone tear escaping her eyes. He felt utterly helpless and asked in a sad, guilt-ridden tone, "Bache, what made you do all this to yourself?"
She took a deep breath, steeling herself to reveal her darkest secrets. "I will tell you the whole truth...
" From the day I was born until our marriage, I never received my parents' love. I craved it desperately. I used to sit outside their room all day, hoping to catch a glimpse of them, but they never came out. I cried for their love, but they were like stone, never melting. My dadi used to lock me in a room or punish me, saying I killed her daughter. No, I didn't kill my bua. She died in an accident saving Sanj. I took the blame to protect Sanj. My dad sent me to a faraway boarding school after that. There, I had no friends. I learned karate, shooting, and tech. I found some peace with a few people, but then someone bullied me, calling me a loser. I hit her so brutally she went to the ICU, and I went back to my 'jail.'
" You remember what Kunal said? It was true. He used to touch me inappropriately. One day, he tried to touch my chest, but I didn't let him. I stayed in my room most of the time after that . Only Aayu, Sanj, and Divi would visit me. Then I met Advi. I told you, didn't I? I started to feel some peace with him, but fate had other plans. That bastard tied me to a chair and beat Advi in front of my eyes. I cried, I begged, but it was no use. He pushed Advi from the second floor, and he went into a coma. His mother accused me, saying it was all my fault, and it felt true. Dadu sent me to London to stay away from it all. He took responsibility for Advi, but the nightmares of that day and his bloodied face haunted me. Every punch, every fall, made me feel like a loser. Advi's mom's words pierced me. Kunal's inappropriate touches made me hate myself. Not even a night I was able to sleep and if I tried also the nightmares didn't let meโฆOne day, I remembered my dadi scaring me with her whip. I started using it on myself. At first, it hurt, but then I found solace in the pain. I hit myself more and more whenever I felt I was wrong, and because of so much pain my body was worn out and I fell asleep "
Her words hung in the air, heavy with sorrow and pain. Abhimanyu felt a deep ache in his heart, tears welling up in his eyes. He took her hands in his, his voice gentle but firm. "Shivnya, you are not alone anymore. I am here with you, and I will help you heal. We will get through this together. I fill every piece of your heart. I love you, and nothing will ever change that."
โBaby, when was the last time you punished yourself?โ Abhimanyu asked softly, his eyes searching hers as tears welled up in Shivnyaโs eyes, threatening to spill.
โThe day Dadji announced our marriage,โ she whispered, her voice trembling with the weight of her confession. โHe blackmailed me, saying I had to marry you or else I wouldnโt be allowed to see Advi or even know about his condition.โ Shivnyaโs gaze dropped to the floor, her vulnerability laid bare. Abhimanyuโs heart clenched with a mix of guilt and sorrow, yet he was determined to uncover the truth.
โDid your dadi ever hurt you with a whip?โ His voice was gentle but insistent, coaxing her to share the painful memories she had buried deep.
โI donโt remember,โ Shivnya responded, her voice edged with fear and frustration. Abhimanyuโs concern deepened, sensing the scars ran deeper than skin. He pressed on, needing to understand.
โYou would have seen the marks on your body, wouldnโt you?โ he asked, his tone a careful blend of patience and persistence.
Shivnyaโs breathing quickened, her voice rising in panic. โI donโt remember anything! Iโve told you all I can. Please, donโt ask me anymoreโโ Abhimanyu quickly cut her off, his hands gently rubbing her back in soothing circles.
โItโs okay, jaan. You donโt have to relive it. Just breathe with me, in and out,โ he whispered, his words a soft balm to her wounded soul. Tears streamed down Shivnyaโs cheeks as she looked up at him, her eyes filled with apology.
โIโm sorry, Abhi,โ she choked out, her voice barely audible.
Abhimanyuโs brow furrowed in confusion. โFor what, my love?โ he asked, his thumb gently wiping away her tears.
โFor my scarsโฆ I know they must disgust you. Thatโs why I always cover them. I know Iโm not perfect, but I promise to try my best,โ she said, her voice laced with self-doubt.
"Bache, you donโt have to worry; youโre perfect just as you are. And about these scars..."
