As she reached the mandap, a tight slap landed on her face. She stood straight, looking directly into her mother's eyes.
"Where were you?" her mother shouted. " Was that work so important that you left your brother's wedding without telling anyone?"
"YESSSSSSS," she replied, making her mother step back.
"Stop it, everyone!" Viren interrupted.
"She told me she had to leave because of an emergency at her office. Now stop this drama and continue the wedding."
"But Papaji, she can't do this," her mother protested.
" We'll discuss this later," Viren said.
"Shivi, go freshen up." Viren ordered
She left for her room
ABHIMANYUโS POV
While everyone was enjoying the wedding festivities, I couldn't help but notice a mix of happiness and sadness in her eyes.
~~~~
Suddenly, a commotion caught my attention, and I turned to see her in a state of distress. She seemed lost in a whirlwind of emotions - sadness, fear, confusion, and pain. Without a moment's hesitation, she dashed towards the main gate, leaving everyone stunned and puzzled, causing the wedding rituals to come to a halt.
As Aayansh and Divit chased after her to unravel the situation, the rest of the attendees, particularly the women, expressed their concern, except for Janvi and her grandmother.
" Shaurya, where is she? Is Everything fine Shaurya say something? " Her mother said in between her crying .
Her dad , uncles and her dadajj are making calls to her and some other people and her mother is crying on the shoulder of her husband and uncle is calming her by saying some soothing words .
And suddenly her dadi said
" Mene toh pehle hi kaha tha ladkiyon ko ghar me hi rakhna chahiye dekha kaise bhaag gyi pkaa kisi ladke ka chkr hoga tum log kabhi nahi sunte ho meri baat or chodo usse khula m kab se samjha rhi hu tum logo ko uski shadi karwa do umar hogyi h ladki ki , ladkiyan ghr m aachi nhi lagti h unki umr hote hi shaadi karwa deni chaiye , pta nhi kis ladke ke sth bhagi , ghr se dur rehti h pta chle sb kuch karke tumhe btaye... " How can someone be this rude and can think so bad about her own blood she always bad mouth about her and no one even stop her literally if she was not her dadi she would have seen the worst side of mine
(I had said multiple times that girls should be kept at home, see how she eloped, I knew she must be having an affair with some boy, you guys never listen to me, I told you many times to not to leave her alone, you guys should get her married, the girl is of age, girls do not look good at home, they should be married as soon as they are of age, we don't know with which kind of boy she eloped, she lives away from home, take in charge of her or else she would let you know after all things would be done... )
" Maaaaaaa " Shaurya and her uncle shouted
" Kya maa maa karta h apni beti ko smbhl phele tb mujhe bolio " She ignored them and start making faces
( what maa maa are you saying take care of your daughter first then dare to speak to me )
" Madhu ek aur laafz meri bachi ke khilaaf or tum mera wo roop dekhogi jo tumne socha bhi nhi hoga " Her dadaji said in a stern voice at least someone initiate to take a stand for her
(ย madhu one more word for my child and you will see the worst side of mine which you never thought also )
" Par nanaji naniji glt hi kya kh rhi h " Janvi said
( but grandmother is not saying anything wrong grandpaa )
" Janvi " Aarav shouted
" What bhai " She said in a sarcastic tone
" Chup ek dm nhi toh "
( quiet or else..)
" Nhi toh kya?? " She said in anger
( or else?? )
" Shut up u guyzzz shivi is calling " Her dadaji said making everyone silent
~~~~
As the phone disconnected her mother asked " What did she said ?? "
" She is coming back in half an hour "
" Where is she and what happened ? " She started interrogating
" Nothing much serious now calm down " He said while patting on her head
She arrived at a gathering looking disheveled and seemed to have been crying, though she tried to conceal it.
Her appearance was disheveled, with her accessories removed, hair undone, and makeup smudged. She appeared weak and on the brink of unconsciousness. Witnessing her in this state stirred a desire to shield her from the harshness of the world.I can't see her like this; I can't believe she is the same girl who can kill a person ruthlessly.
However, my train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a slap delivered by her own mother. The incident left me outraged but powerless to intervene. Despite the blow, she maintained her composure and met her mother's gaze firmly. She claimed to be engaged in important business, leaving me wondering about the nature of this task.
After retiring for the night, I noticed her leaving for her room. Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to discreetly trace her movements.
Upon arriving at her room, I overheard distressed sounds coming from within. The door was locked, so I ventured to a window, peering inside to witness her frantic search for something amidst the chaos of scattered belongings.
She appeared distraught, trembling, and visibly unwell, wiping perspiration from her brow. As she rifled through a drawer, her hands eventually grasped two bottles of pills. With a sense of urgency, she consumed five pills from each container simultaneously. The excessive amount raised concerns about the nature of the medication and her well-being. Despite ingesting the pills, her trembling persisted unabated.
She knelt by her bed, head resting on the mattress, knees pulled in close, tears streaming down her face. As I observed her distress, I felt compelled to uncover the factors contributing to her emotional state. Who could have caused such anguish with just a phone call? The sight of her suffering tugged at my heart, leaving me feeling utterly powerless. Suppressing my own feelings, I left the room and headed to the hall.
AUTHORโS POVย
A visitor at the door summoned her to join a gathering, prompting her to freshen up in the washroom. With an aggressive scrub of her face, she composed herself, arranging her appearance to conceal her distress. Presenting a composed facade, she made her way to the hall.
At the post-ritual gathering, she was noticed by everyone as she made eye contact with each person. While some eyes showed concern, others made her feel as if she had committed a crime.
She went straight to Aayansh, sitting beside him and holding onto his bicep, resting her head on his shoulder as he comforted her.
Despite being younger, Aayansh understood that she rarely asked for help and likely wouldn't in the future, but he was always willing to offer support in his own small ways, such as providing comfort in this moment.

Dii came near and grabbed my bicep and put her head on my shoulder , while we were sitting and seeing the rituals were going on , everyone was trying their best to hide their emotions and enjoy this moment because this moment is special for bhai.
I touched her hand and it was burning hot" Diiiii " I said seeing from the corner of my eyes and she hummed in response
" Diii "
" Bolo bhi " She said in a sleepy voice
( say it )
" Aap Ki tabiyat thik h? " I asked her and she again hummed
( are you okay?? )
" At least mere se toh jhuth mat boliye , Aapko bhot tezz fever h chaliye yha se aapko rest karna chaiye " I said in a regretful tone
( atleast don't lie to me you are suffering from high fever , let's go from here you need rest )
" Nhi aayu " She said in a sleepy voice with a pain in her voice.
( no aayu )
" Diii m appki ek baat nhi sunuga chaliye app" I said, taking her hands in my hands .
( I am not going to listen to anything )
" Suno kl subh mumbai wapis Jane ke liye jet taiyar kar dena I am going back " She said and her hands were in my hand
( listen I am going back tomorrow morning please prepare the jet for that )
" Really diii?? " I was shocked by this statement
" Yes " She said with a huff
" Is everything fine?? " I asked and she hummed in response
" Diii appko fever h or app room m bhi nhi chl rhe ho or kl jaane ki baat or kar rahe ho aise kaise chalega " I said in concerned tone
( dii you are suffering from fever and you aren't even resting I am coming with you guys )
" Diii app sunn bhi rhi ho?? "
( are you even listening what i am saying?? )
" Haa baba sun rahi hu kabhi kabhi toh lagta tum humse bade ho " She said with a chuckle , At Least by this a smile came on her face
( yes I am listening but sometimes it seems you are the older one )
" Nhi diii aisa kuch nhi but appko pta h na ki m appko aisa nhi dekh skta hu aap kabhi humari sunti kyu nhi ho " I said with little anger in my voice
( no dii nothing is like that just you know na how much I am concerned about you )
" Aacha baba thik h hum ye ritual khatam hote hi so jayenge " She said with a smile on her face
( okay fine as soon as the ritual will get over I will take rest )
" Pkka ? " I asked because I don't believe her in this matter
( promise )
" Haa "
( yes )
~
"Shivi," Bhaiya called, approaching her
" Bhai, everything is fine. Please, go back to your room " she reassured him with a smile.
" Shivi, I'm your older brother " he said, anger in his voice.
" I know, that's why I'm asking you to go," she replied, trying to hide her pain
" Shivi, we'll talk when we get home," he said, frustration evident as he walked away.
~~
All the cousins had to go do a ritual, but Shivnya opposed it and said, "You all go," in a stern voice. The three cousins left with a nod.
"You aren't coming?" Janvi asked in a bitchy tone.
"Initially, I thought you didn't have a brain to process things, but now it's confirmed," Shivnya mocked her.
"Naniji," Janvi said in a dramatic voice.
"Shiviiii," Dadi shouted at her.
"Are you leaving or..." Shivnya started to say but was cut off by Mrs. Rajvanshi, who shouted, "Shivnya!"
"Go, Janvi," Mrs. Rajvanshi said sweetly to her.
"Say what you want to say," Viren asked.
SHIVNYAโS POVย
"Dadaji, I'm leaving early tomorrow morning, and from now on, I won't be staying in that house. If there's any unavoidable work Sanj and Janvi are there to help in " I declared, watching as shock rippled through the room.
" Are you asking or telling? " Mrs. Yuvantika's voice was tinged with uncertainty.
" Take it however you want. I've already informed those who needed to know, and I don't feel the need to explain myself to anyone else," I replied sternly
" I would also love to see how you would leave without our permission " Mrs. Madhu words cut through the air like a whip.
" What will you do? How dare you act like you have rights after treating me like an unwanted child for 27 years? you remember you have a granddaughter also ?" I felt the anger boiling within me, my voice disguised with a veneer of control.
"And let me tell you, I'm not the innocent seven-year-old Shivi who used to stay quiet. I am a FREAKING BUSINESSWOMEN , who hasn't taken a single penny from you. Don't even think about emotionally blackmailing me. You better pretend like you don't have a daughter, and if you do, it's DEAD ," I roared, the words pouring out like a flood.
"Shiviiii," Mr. Rajvanshi shouted
"What Shiviiii?" I shot back, refusing to back down.
"When it suits you, you'll claim your rights, and when it suits you, you'll throw me away like trash MR. SHAURYA VIREN RAJVANSHI , you're very wrong. I was weak then, not now, nor will I ever be. So, understand this well and make your family understand too, that neither am I your daughter anymore, nor do you have any rights over me. Stay in your limits," I roared, my heart pounding in my chest, only to receive a stinging slap from my dadi.
SLAP
I chuckled hard "Did you think slapping me would change my mind? Aww, you guys are wrong. You're all so very wrong. I'm leaving now, and if you can stop me, then go ahead and try," I announced defiantly.
"If you want to live alone, you can. But you won't use any Rajvanshi assets," Mr. Rajvanshi said in a stern voice.
"Tch, tch. Wow, same mentality. I knew it very well. Did you think I wouldn't see through your dirty gameplay?" I said with a devilish laugh.
"For your information, all the cars I own are mine, purchased with MY OWN FUCKING MONEY . And if you've forgotten, I also own a jet"
"Tch, tch. Did you think, Mr. Shaurya Rajvanshi, that I would fall into your trap? Huhh , never! I'm not that naive girl anymore. And another thing, I haven't taken any of your money since building my business. So, if you want back every penny you spent on me, please send me the amount. I would love to THROW THAT MONEY IN YOUR FACE! " I shouted with a smirk.
SLAP
"Does anyone talk to their father like that?" Mrs. Madhu shouted at me.
" Yes , me , anything else " I said with a chuckle and started to leave, but stopped midway.
"I'm leaving my lovely family, but please call me for the PIND SAMMELLAN. I would love to attend that."
"Bye-bye, lovelies," I said with a wave and continued on my way, only to stop when someone called me.
"Shiviii, ruko," Dadaji called out.
"Dadaji, we can talk about all this later," I replied, my back still facing them, and then I left.
I knew Mr and Mrs Rajvanshi and Mrs Madhu didn't care about me, but the rest of the family loved me. They didn't interfere in my decision because they knew who I was and how I was treated as a child. I don't know what crime I committed to deserve such treatment, but now I won't tolerate it any longer. My main concern was my business, and now that it's flourishing, I can leave that house behind. And here I am, doing just that.
~~~~
I started packing my important things, but stopped midway when I heard a knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I asked while continuing to pack.
"Diii," Aayansh and Divit said in unison.
"Come in," I said.
" Diii, why are you leaving ? " they asked.
" Actually, some important work has come up, so I have to leave," I explained, placing my laptop and chargers in my bag.
" But Diii, what if Bhai finds out? " Aayu worried while I was zipping up my bag.
" Family is there to take care of it ," I said firmly.
" Diii, but you know how angry Bhai can get " Divit muttered.
" And have you forgotten who I am? " I said with a glare
"But Diii, you have a fever. You told me you would rest," Aayu said in an irritated tone.
"Dii has a fever?" Divi asked.
"Aayu, shut up," I shouted.
"Haa, she has a fever," Aayu said. Divi came near to check my temperature, but I glared at him, and he stepped back.
"Okay, enough of your nonsense. I'm leaving now. Bye, guys," I said, grabbing my bags.
"I'm coming too," Aayu announced.
"Me too, me too," Divi said cutely, making me smile.
"No, you both stay here. Bhai will need you," I said in a stern voice.
"Diii," Sanj said softly as she came in.
"Yes, bache " I said, patting her head.
"Why are you leaving so early?" she asked, hugging me.
"I have work, bache . And listen, from now on, I'm going to live in my own house," I said, and they all gave me a bored look.
"Officially?" Aayu asked, confusing me.
"Actually, we know since you came back from London, you've been living somewhere else unofficially," Divit said with a smirk, I wasn't shocked that they found out after all they are my cousins they work under me
"Diii, we will miss you," Sanj said.
"You guys can come to my house anytime. It's like your own home," I reassured them.
"Do we have our own rooms there?" Divi asked.
"Yes, dumbo," I said with a chuckle.
"Bhai, do you see this? She calls us Dumbo and her , bache . She makes us work while letting her have all the fun," Divi complained like a baby.
"Awww, is Divi baby feeling jealous?" I teased, and they both chuckled.
"Diiii, you can't baby me," he protested.
"Yes, of course I can, my cute baby," I said, patting his head.
"But Diii," Sanj started to say.
"No buts. I have to go now or I'll be late for my flight," I said and started to leave.
"Bye, guys," I said, waving as I walked out the door.
I was halfway to the hall when I heard Kamini Chachi's voice. "Beta, ruk jao." I looked back to see both my chachis and chachus there.
( child please stay )
" Chachi, you know everything. Nothing is hidden from you. Please don't try to stop me, and please don't tell them anything. I'll handle everything myself," I said in a low voice so my three monkeys wouldn't hear. A lone tear escaped my eye, but I wiped it away before she could.
"Alright, but don't forget us. Your chachis and chachus love you very much," Nandini Chachi said.
"I'm just moving out , guys. We'll still see each other. And Chachi, if they do my pind daan, make me know " I joked to lighten the mood, but ended up getting a soft slap on my face.
"Shiviii," Kamini Chachi said.
"Chachiiii," I replied, and we all gathered in a group hug. My sweet chachis started to tear up, but chachu consoled them.
" Bye-bye," I said, waving my hand as I left.
~~~~~
"You're not going anywhere," someone grabbed my wrist as I was about to sit in my car. I glanced at the hand and pulled back, wanting to see who dared to stop me.
"And who are you to stop me?" I questioned coldly.
"YOUR MOTHER," she shouted at me.
"YOU'VE LOST ALL YOUR RIGHTS LONG AGO, MRS. YUVANTIKA SHAURYA RAJVANSHI," I roared back, jerking my hand away from hers. I saw tears in her eyes, but I didn't care. I left without a second glance.
